Panyard Tamboo Bamboo

British colonial rulers banned African-influenced drums (drums with heads) in Trinidad in 1884. Instead of resorting to less fun activities like taking up the oboe, the Trinidadians put their heads together and came up with Tamboo Bamboo! These bamboo tubes of various sizes can be hit on the ground or with sticks, creating a variety of interesting percussive noises. Think of them as the precursor to BoomWhackers. This set includes the following items:
  • Four Basses - struck on the ground, creating a low growling sound
  • Two Fullers - medium voice, also struck on the ground
  • Two Cutters - short, high voices held with one arm and struck with a mallet
  • History and Rhythm Sheet
