Sabian 16" HHX Complex Thin Crash Cymbal

Sabian HHX Complex Series Cymbals are a natural evolution of other Sabian cymbals. These B20 bronze cymbals are made using techniques developed in other series, combining lathing and hammering patterns to create a new sound that is dark and lush, with a wide swath of overtones.

The HHX Complex Series uses two different kinds of hammering - a deeper, larger hammer makes the larger hammering marks that are easily seen from the bottom of the cymbal, and a smaller hammering pattern is used on the top, carefully honing in on a complex blend of frequencies (hence the name). The bell is unlathed, with tight hammering that makes the sound stand out from the rest of the cymbal.

This HHX Complex Crash Cymbal has a thin weight, making for a medium-short sustain. Each crash has a rich, sweet sound, and you have a lot of control over how a crash blossoms. The sustain and wash provides a nice bed of sound - far from overpowering, but present and varied enough to contribute a lot to any tune they're played on.

The HHX Complex line is not designed for a specific application - instead, it was designed to work across the board. No matter what kind of music you're playing, the complexity and depth of tone will add a lot of nuance to your performance!
