The Sabian 14" AAX Freq Hi Hat Cymbals feature a dual-lathing process that makes them extra crispy when you want it, and sloppy washy when you need it.
The bell has been left raw, surrounded by a roughly lathed section (similar to what Sabian does for their SR2 series), and the outside is lathed in a more traditional factor. This combination looks absolutely great.
The end result is one of the most useful pair of hats that Sabian has ever produced - they are effectively gated on attacks, which means that they won't ever become uncontrollable. The 'chick' is really dry, but with just enough meat behind it to sound substantial instead of clinky. Open them up a little bit and you get a tasty amount of slosh. Just put these in your bag already.
