The Sabian 22" Big and Ugly AA Apollo Ride Cymbal is made for versatility - it can sound modern if it whack it with enough force, but if you put a little finesse into your stroke it lets loose with a nice shimmer. The 22" model is not quite as deep or loud as the 24" model.
Big and Ugly cymbals look just like the kinds of plates you'd find at the back of a pawn shop - they're unapologetically unpretty in looks, but they tend to be pretty dark and complex in timbre.
