Byzance Extra Dry cymbals are unlathed on top to keep sustain very short, with the added bonus of a very cool raw, dark look. Extensive hand hammering creates a complex wash of overtones.
The very thin profile of this cymbal gives it the ability to max out on its upper overtones without putting much energy into hitting it - even a soft blow will activate the full bloom of the instrument.
