The Grover Pro BDM-DA-2 General/Ultra Staccato Dual-Headed Bass Drum Mallet features a 5/8" aluminum shaft that adds weight, giving you a punchier stroke and making it easier for you to activate the low fundamental overtones of a large concert bass drum head.
This mallet is made with a solid maple cores covered in hand-sewn German felt. The cores' oblong shape contacts more of the head than a round head will, providing additional richness and density to each stroke.
The dual-headed design of this mallet allows you to play in multiple styles when there's no time to do a mallet switch. Most of the time the general side will work just fine, but if you need to bring up the articulation or attack sound, flip over to the ultra staccato side.
