The maple Christopher Lamb sticks are light and feathery, making them excellent for quick, articulate passages. They've been constructed with a very long taper which puts most of the mass in the middle/butt end for a high degree of control. They've also got bullet-shaped beads which produce a full, dark tone from pianissimo to mezzo forte dynamics.
These sticks are effective for the vast majority of band and orchestral music, but if you need something with a little more oomph for louder music, you might consider the laminated birch model.
