The Innovative Percussion Christopher Lamb #1 Laminated Beech sticks are made of several layers of sturdy beech, giving them a very consistent weight and pitch throughout the entirety of the stick. They've been constructed with a very long taper which puts most of the mass in the middle/butt end for a high degree of control. They've also got bullet-shaped beads which produce a full, dark tone, and are suited for mezzo piano to fortissimo dynamic levels.
These sticks are denser and heavier than the maple model, giving them a higher quality of sound when a lot of volume is required.
Just to clarify any confusion - these sticks are not laminated as in 'covered in something'. Laminate refers to the technique of using layers of material to construct an object.
