Remo Powermax Ebony Crimplock heads are made specifically with marching bass lines in mind - they're pre-muffled so you don't have to make that extra trip to the hardware store for some glue and insulating foam.
Made of a single 10mil-thick ply of film to handle a whole season's worth of notes (plus a CS dot in the middle for extra durability), the Powermax also includes a free-floating internal muffling ring that gets rid of unwanted overtones, lowers the pitch, and focuses the fundamental tone of the drum.
The crimplock rim on this head allows you to crank the tension up extremely high without worrying about it pulling loose.
