Ed Soph is one of the biggest names in jazz drumming, and these sticks are specifically designed for the jazz genre. Their maple construction makes them nice and light for quick fills, giving you the right volume and weight for small jazz combo groups.
The diameter is very close to a 5A, and the acorn-shaped beads let you have smooth rolls while still keeping articulation on the drums and cymbals. They've got a short taper that makes the sticks more front-heavy and better able to stand up to rimshots.
