The Ludwig 12" x 14" Ultimate Marching Snare Drum is designed for modern marching groups, featuring 8-ply North American Maple shells completely free-floating within lightweight aluminum hardware. This drilling-free design lets the drum's sound fully bloom on the field.
Maple brings high sensitivity, a wide tuning range, and a biting attack to your snare line. Each drum is constructed with 45-degree bearing edges with a 1/8" radius round over, finally hand-sanded to assure a completely flat surface to seat the head correctly.
A bladder mold and a special adhesive lets the shell cure evenly across the entire surface. This unique method, as well as a 5-ply 1.5" maple reinforcement ring, make the shell incredibly strong to hold up under immense tuning pressure.
16 individually adjustable and removable snare guts let you fully customize your snare line's sound, while snare guards protect these components from the ground. Steel mounting brackets with key rod fasteners reduce the chance of being stripped out.
The rest of the hardware is lightweight aluminum, bringing the total weight down 6 pounds from the previous Ludwig marching snare drum.
