Pearl's Primero Figured Cherry cajon is made of MDF partnered with a figured cherry faceplate.
The cherry wood used for the faceplate is a fine grained hardwood. Dark wavy streaks are visible, and quite pleasing, with this wood. In terms of tone, cherry is a close match to maple; when used on cajons it's able to provide extra low-end.
The built in bass port adds to that sweet low end content while the two internal snare wires add a crispy response to the faceplate.
