The IP Pius Cheung Medium Soft Marimba Mallets are made with an alpaca-blend yarn containing a thick rubber core, creating a deep, rich sound when they strike the lower bars of the marimba.
The PIUS2B models have a harder core than the extremely soft PIUS1 mallets, but are still made to create beautiful sounds out of the low end of the instrument. Use these mallets in an ensemble or concerto setting, where a little more articulation is required to be heard through a large group.
These mallets come on rigid birch shafts, ideal for players who use Musser Grip/Stevens Technique.
