Originally a movement from Albeniz's Suite Espanola, Op. 47 for solo piano, Seville (Sevillanas) has been arranged by Christopher Whyte for an eight person percussion ensemble. This arrangement features a solo marimba part that is supported by the rest of the ensemble, this soloist plays the majority of the original part but with an extended cadenza in the middle of the piece.
All of the accompanying parts are fairly simple and straight-forward with basic instrumentation. This is a light and enjoyable piece that is perfect for high school or college ensembles to schedule on an upcoming concert!
