Tapspace Intermezzo (A Midsummer Nights Dream) - Mendelssohn/Slawson

Intermezzo from A Midsummer Night's Dream takes place following Act II and within the story, expresses one character's crazed searched for a bewitched lover but becomes lost herself. This arrangement by Brian Slawson is written for eight keyboard players and creates a mystical and magical quality that the performers must work to perform.

There are a great many passages throughout this work that are incredibly subtle, so performers will have to find the perfect pairing of mallet choice and touch to play with the perfect level of finesse. This is a great ensemble that audiences will love and is perfect for high-level high school or college ensembles to perform.

Performance Notes from the Composer: "Although there are dramatic swells throughout this work, the overall dynamic approach should remain within a subtle framework. Those playing metallophones should exercise additional caution and choose mallets wisely.
