Tapspace Zenith by Benjamin Finley

Zenith by Benjamin Finley is an 8-player percussion ensemble inspired by the highest point in the sky at any given point on the planet, or the pinnacle of achievement for any skill. This piece may push your college-level ensemble towards those lofty goals.

Opening with scale-based melodic patterns on keyboards, this piece eventually makes its way into drummy territory. This is followed by a "floating" segment that climbs towards an experience-ending burst of light.

Each player will need to create a "spinner", a resonant metallic object that can be mounted on a stand and spin in place when struck with a mallet.
