Napali by Ryan Loud is a warm, improvisatory work for percussion trio or full rhythm section. The dynamic work gives students a chance to work on improvising, and is fully playable as a marimba/vibe/guitar trio, or even just a marimba/vibe duet, if a jazz ensemble is not available.
The auditory imagery in this piece is inspired by the Napali coast on the Hawaiian islands and its gorgeous scenery and environment.
