Some Things by Eric Willie adds some inventive, approachable music to the concert snare drum solo repertoire. Each of the three movements gives the player some very cool stuff to work through, while still giving a general audience something to latch on to.
An excellent candidate for recitals, this piece brings complexity to the table to satisfy academic requirements, with enough musical and timbral changes to satisfy the audience. Players will need normal sticks, sticks with hard felt butts, and a brush.
