Tapspace Impromptu No. 3 by Franz Schubert arr. August Pappas

Impromptu No. 3 by Franz Schubert is an emotional, beautiful work for solo piano that August Pappas has gifted to the percussion world by way of this vibraphone transcription. This challenging work for solo vibraphone demands a fine-tuned ear and the ability to emphasize and lead a melody line.

With many challenging textures that need to sound effortless, this is an excellent addition to any recital or concert for a well-developed percussionist. It was transposed from the key of G-flat major to C major to better fit the vibraphone's range. The pedaling will prove to be an added challenge as well to get the long melodic lines to speak over the rest of the piece without sounding washy!
