Tapspace Danny Boy (Traditional) arr. Brian Mueller

Danny Boy arranged by Brian Mueller is a beautiful piece for solo marimba that Mueller originally wrote at Indiana University and then finished after studying with Eric Sammut. Sammut's influence shines through clearly, given that the piece includes both a fully-scored version and a version with just chords and bassline that allows for improvisation over the top!

This challenging piece demands a gifted musical brain, as well as advanced technique, to make the melody clear and maintain a delicate feel the entire time. The beautiful textures are delicate but challenging, and that makes this an excellent addition to any recital!

For teachers with especially gifted students, this is also a great way to develop your student's improvisation skills.
